Description
The Nutmeg Shaving Mechanism is made of treated stainless steel which is corrosion resistant, and offers superior edge retention. The Peugeot nutmeg shaver is equipped with a double stainless steel grater blade and a strong claw which enables the whole nutmeg to be very finely shaved, while keeping fingers safe. Intended for use with whole nutmeg nuts. The Peugeot nutmeg mills are designed to make it easy to get fresh, full nutmeg flavor, without risking finger safety. Four claws hold whole nutmeg in place and when the handle is turned clockwise, two safely concealed blades shave thin pieces of the nut, releasing the fresh flavors and aromas.
Peugeot of France created the pepper grinder in 1842. The patented design of the grinding mechanism created by a company engineer for the first Peugeot pepper mills is still in use today, virtually unchanged. Often copied, but never equaled, the mechanism made of case hardened steel is designed to crack the peppercorns before the actual fine grinding process. The grooves on a Peugeot mechanism are individually cut into the metal, and then case hardened, making them virtually indestructible.
